A Case Study of MOHO Model Therapy for Child With Autism Spectrum Disorder Using SCOPE Evaluation Tool

Abstract
The study sought to investigate the clinical significance of the human occupation model through a case study on the effect of occupational therapy in a child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) using a short child occupational profile evaluation tool based on the human occupation model.
The subject was a 12-year-old male child with ASD. Occupational therapy interventions were conducted twice a week for 20 sessions, and mental health occupational therapy services focused on social interaction and communication were provided. In order to measure the outcome of the pre-post therapy goals, the score change of the pre-post therapy was presented through the short child occupational profile and clinical significance was proposed.
There were functional enhancements in Volition, Habituation, Communication & Interaction Skills, Performance Skills, Motor Skills and Environmental Adaptability of the child with ASD.
The mental health occupational therapy intervention service using a short child occupational profile evaluation tool based on the human occupational model was clinically significant in identifying the effectiveness of child with ASD in improving occupational performance.
