The study sought to investigate the clinical significance of the human occupation model through a case study on the effect of occupational therapy in a child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) using a short child occupational profile evaluation tool based on the human occupation model.
The subject was a 12-year-old male child with ASD. Occupational therapy interventions were conducted twice a week for 20 sessions, and mental health occupational therapy services focused on social interaction and communication were provided. In order to measure the outcome of the pre-post therapy goals, the score change of the pre-post therapy was presented through the short child occupational profile and clinical significance was proposed.
